Monaco's royal wedding between 53 year old Prince Albert and 33
year old Charlene Wittstock went ahead on Friday 1st July 2011 amid
widespread rumours that the bride tried to run away three times
before the ceremony. Those rumours were denied by the couple.

According to French national newspaper, Le Journal du Dimanche
"several sources have confirmed that an arrangement was reached
between the future bride and groom".
Whatever issues the royal couple experienced in the lead up to
the wedding, they decided to marry. Many couples will go through
difficulties before and after marriage. Some problems may seem so
fundamental that the relationship will falter and fail.
Legal advice can assist in making an informed decision about
whether to remain in a relationship. Uncertainty about their
respective legal positions if the relationship is to end can make
the decision to "make or break" even harder.
For some couples, a formal arrangement can cement a rocky
relationship. Where a husband or wife has been unfaithful, for
example, they may be prepared to reconcile if ground rules are set
and the couple can agree what should happen if those are broken in
the future. Before marriage, such a formal agreement is known as a
pre nuptial agreement. After marriage, it would be referred to as a
post nuptial agreement.
Family law in Scotland and England is very different as is the
treatment of pre and post nuptial agreements. The Family Law Team at
Simpson & Marwick is well equipped to give further advice
on all aspects of Scots family law including pre and post nuptial
agreements. We recognise that splitting up is not always the
best thing for our clients and that some would prefer help in
dealing with unexpected changes in their relationship and staying
together.
