Earlier this year a group of family law solicitors in England
created a new iPhone app which it claimed to be "legal advice and
guidance" to people considering divorce.

At present there does not appear to be a similar app for parties
seeking to separate and ultimately divorce in Scotland.
However, when it is generally accepted that the breakdown of a
relationship is as traumatic as bereavement does such a device
merely trivialise marriage? Peter Martin,
co-creator of the app, said it was intended to generate "informed
discussions and better communication" but Stephen Green, a
spokesman for campaign group Christian Voice, argues that: 'It
could encourage divorce by normalizing the decision, making it seem
as easy to make as any other lifestyle choice. 'It could also deter
the other partner from fighting to save their marriage."
Each case is unique and it is difficult to see how an app could
address all of the potential variables. If you need detailed
