Simpson & Marwick were named 'Litigation Team of the
Year' at the Scott + Co Scottish Legal Awards 2011.
This is the second consecutive year that Simpson & Marwick
have been successful at this prestigious awards ceremony, having
been named 'Family Law Team of the Year' and 'Property Team of the
Year' at last year's event.

The event was hosted by Scottish comedian Jonathan Watson and
BBC Scotland's Catriona Shearer. Irish Comedian Keith Farnan
entertained guests after the award presentations. The event also
raises funds for Children 1st Scotland's leading child welfare
charity.
Over 450 guests from the legal sector were in attendance.
Simpson & Marwick were delighted to be successful in the most
hotly contested category of the night. Nine firms made it on to the
shortlist. This award will now sit alongside the separate Law
Awards of Scotland Litigation Firm of the year which was won in
2010.
Scotsman Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Sir David
Edward. He was honoured for his career as a lawyer, academic and
former Judge of the Court of Justice of the European
Communities. In his acceptance speech, he thanked Simpson
& Marwick for giving him a start in his legal career. He
completed his apprenticeship at the firm .

recognised as the best litigators in Scotland."
