    Last night the Scottish Parliament passed important and controversial changes to Scots Family Law. It is anticipated that the Family Law (Scotland) Bill will become law in April 2006.   • Pre-action protocols for Scotland

    England and Wales have operated pre-action protocols since the Civil Justice reforms were introduced in 1996, on the recommendation they would "build on and increase benefits of early but well-informed settlement which genuinely satisfied both parties in dispute." Until now, no equivalent provision has existed in Scotland.
