Thanks to Scotland's glorious weather the money raised this year
for the Rock Trust at the sleep out, was well earned. The Edinburgh
skies provided enough rain to turn our wonderful cardboard sleeping
arena to a paper-mache mattress within minutes. This weather did
not put off the brave team affectionately known as Six in the City
from turning up prepared to battle the elements and make things
better for all mankind (Read those the Rock Trust support for all
mankind).
The brave team was made up of Catriona Stewart, Diana Hall,
Frances Ramage, Jonathan Crockett & Paul Ryan. The rain
eventually let up post midnight allowing people to shake down their
sleeping bags and consider some sleep. The team used their time
well; chatting, collecting on the streets and playing Perudo.
The night for most of the team culminated in a brief jog down
George Street. Diana and Catriona soon after retired to the quiet
side of the church to try and catch some shut eye. The rest of the
team retired soon after at the loud end in the small hours of the
morning. The night was uneventful for some, sleeping right through
till dawn, while for some others it was a little more exciting.
With such a prime location on George Street the Edinburgh revellers
made their way over to greet the fundraisers. None of those luckier
than our very own Diana Kissogram Hall, who was propositioned by a
friendly passer-by in return for a very reasonable fee.
The team was delighted to take part (and to risk hypothermia and
trench foot) for such a worthy cause.
The Rock Trust is an Edinburgh / West Lothian based Charity that
