Well, I would walk 776.71399 miles...
No, it's not a very specific attempt to out-do The Proclaimers.
776 miles is 1,250 kilometres, and that's the distance that Simpson
& Marwick staff will walk on 2 September in aid of our charity
of the year, CHAS.
On Friday 2 September, everyone in Simpson & Marwick will -
work commitments permitting - take the afternoon off to join
together in sponsored walks. The walks will take place in each of
the cities in which we have an office.
If the distance - chosen, of course, to celebrate our 125th
anniversary this year - seems a little ambitious for a single
afternoon, we should emphasise that is the cumulative total to be
covered by everyone taking part, not the length of the route.
Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish
charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for
children and young people with life-shortening conditions. It also
provides a home care service.
The charity supports over 250 families, as well as a significant
number of families who receive bereavement support. The services
are free to families who need them and are funded mainly through
the generosity of the many supporters who help the charity to raise
over £6 million needed each year to provide these vital hospice
services.
