An established specialist in contentious Employment Law matters

Robert, a Partner in our Employment team, is dual qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and in England and Wales. Prior to joining Simpson & Marwick Robert spent 14 years as BT's legal adviser on all contentious matters in Scotland and during this time he developed a specialism in employment law; conducting numerous Tribunal hearings throughout the UK in cases involving unfair dismissal, discrimination, breach of contract and employment status as well as taking several cases to the EAT. Since leaving BT in 2006, Robert has concentrated solely on employment law and in 2009 he was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Employment Law.

Robert continues to specialise in contentious employment law matters and appears regularly in the Employment Tribunal.

Career

Qualified in 1988 and dual Qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and in England and Wales in 1994.

Joined Simpson & Marwick's Employment Team as a Partner in 2011.

Previous positions held at HBJ Gateley as an Employment Partner and as an In-house solicitor to British Telecommunications Plc.

Member of the Employment Law Group, the Employment Lawyers Association and the Law Society of Scotland.
