Tanya is an experienced litigator who is instructed in a wide variety of personal injury claims by her clients, including accidents at work and road traffic accidents. She has particular knowledge and expertise of the retail sector, and of occupational stress and upper limb disorder claims. Tanya clients include self-insuring businesses and public bodies, English agents and insurers.

Tanya enjoys living in Scotland, and is enthusiastic about the people, the history and holidaying in Arran with her family. She recently enjoyed attending the Breast Cancer Care charity fashion show in Glasgow, which Simpson & Marwick support every year.

Recent notable work includes:

Hughes v Grampian Country Food Group Limited [2007] SLT 635. Tanya acted as Lead Partner in this Scottish Appeal case which considered the interpretation of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. The court held that to constitute a manual handling operation, the activity required to involve the supporting or transporting of a load.

Cross v HIE & WIE [2001] SLT 1060. Tanya was involved as Assistant in the successful defence of this occupational stress case, the first litigated in Scotland.
