Collaborative Law

Collaborative Family Law is a relatively recent development in Scotland.

Originating in the United States, this process involves a series of "four way" meetings between the clients and their solicitors.

Correspondence is kept to a minimum with constructive discussion at the forefront. It is agreed that the solicitors will not litigate on behalf of their clients thereby allowing everyone to focus on finding acceptable and at times creative solutions.

We have been very active in Collaborative Law since its inception in Scotland; Shaun George, Richard Smith, Donna McKay and Lydia McLachlan are all qualified Collaborative Family Lawyers.
